Paola regional healthcare hub

30 December 2025 | Country Update

The Vincent Moran Regional Healthcare Hub located in Paola was inaugurated in the summer of 2025 as the first of a series of planned secondary healthcare hubs. This hub aims to bring ambulatory holistic healthcare services to the community, bridging the distance between the patient and healthcare and easing the demand on Mater Dei Hospital. The hub also aims to provide intermediate services between the primary care and hospital specialist settings. Day surgeries will also be available at this hub, since there are two operating theatres within the premises. There are around 50 services that will be offered through this new centre, which comprises six clinical floors and three technical floors and was estimated to cost around €50 million. It is thought that the regional centre will help meet the growing demand for healthcare services that results from increasing population size.
